Rachel Salamander is a literary scholar, journalist, and founder of “Literaturhandlung,” a bookstore specializing in literature on Jewish topics. She is the recipient among other things of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Bavarian Order of Merit, and the Heinrich Heine Prize of the City of Düsseldorf. She is also an honorary citizen of the City of Munich. She is a deputy member of the Supervisory Board of the Suhrkamp Verlag AG and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Alfred Landecker Foundation.
